The Indictment

“I am coming soon. Hold onto what you have, so that no one will take your crown. Wake up. Strengthen what remains and is about to die.” Revelation 3:2, 11.

There is an indictment in heaven. Yeshua our High Priest pleads our case.  We awoke the other morning to the sound in a dream of a cosmic gavel rending space and time. One cosmic gavel hit the table of justice. Rendering a decision. We both heard it. I wrestle in anger tonight. It’s late. I am angry. I feel caged.  Zeal for His house and nobel themes is in my heart. I cry, “Where are you men?”  I have grieved for years. I am ashamed. This nation once believed. Was held up as a torch. Was I taught? No, to my family’s shame. We strive now to be honorable.  I see now that the Dalai Lama’s vile Kalachakra ceremony is now touted as the largest peace gathering in history. Is it not like the prophet Daniel spoke. “And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify [himself] in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many …” Daniel 8:25:a.

Nine kings, one resigns.  The pluralist pope as spiritual carpetbagger, yet traveling the globe as Lucifer plying his craft. Through peace I will destroy many. Giggling in self righteous glee the time god looks down at his watch, I’ve fooled them all, except One. I have no answers, only sand.

Our Yeshua said not to build your house on sand, but upon the ROCK.

The indictment.  Is not My word like fire?” declares the LORD, “and like a hammer which shatters a rock?”

If I bought a pot, would I not own the pot? Don’t I have the right to do whatever I wish with the pot?

Who are you to speak to your Creator thus? Does the clay say to the Potter, I can do as I please? No. The Potter does as He pleases.

Today, I saw a You Tube video of the Dalai Lama’s lamas pouring out a vase of sand from the Kalachakra in Melbourne, Australia. It looked like the Egyptian priests of old pouring out blood. It was red. Who are we? Who have we become? The LORD, righteous and true has all the rights in the universe and eternity to judge this nation. The mountains cry out, “You have defiled the waters with your chemicals and pharmaceuticals and now the Tibetans come and defile them with their vile tantric substances. I’ve seen them bury their vases on my peaks. I’ve seen them take the defiled substances of their magic and fly it to Turtle Island. “The land is full of adulterers. The land mourns because of the curse. The pastures of the wilderness have dried up. For both prophet and priest are polluted. Even in My house have I found their wickedness, declares the LORD.” Jeremiah 23:11.  “The storm of the LORD has gone forth in wrath, even a whirling tempest. In the last days, you will clearly understand it.”  See the tornados from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham? Tibetan lamas built defiling sand mandalas at the Alyce Stephens Museum. I saw that the lamas swept up the sand in the form of tornados. I saw the young girl taught to make the mandala. I saw the eager faces taking the sand from the dissolved mandalas into their homes. Bringing defilement into their homes. Into the National Cathedral. Into Presbyterian Churches, Baptist Universities, Methodist Universities, Catholic Universities.  Who are you? Hear the Word of the LORD. Read Deuteronomy 28 and you will see you have a choice today to either be blessed or to be cursed. You wanted freedom to choose. Here you have it.

The nation is on vacation. So where will it be this year? The Smithsonian? Eleven years ago in Washington, DC two million  turned the prayer wheels on the National Mall at Tibet, Land Beyond the Snows. Are you happy you did? Did you even think of what they meant? What prayers were being recited? What the sand mandalas were designed to do? Do you use your God given mind to reason what it is you have chosen to do?

Where are the 400 youth who stood their ground in front of the US Capitol repenting for the sins of the nation? At the same time, two streets away on the National Mall the Dalai Lama did his thing, the Monlam Chenmo, “World Peace” Prayer Ceremony? Did the construction of sand mandalas do any good for New York where thousands participated in the building of the Kalachakra mandala in Tower One of the World Trade Center? Tell the surviving family members. Look them in the eye. For one day, you will have to look the One Complete Perfection, YHWH in the eye. And He will judge.

The gavel has fallen. The verdict rendered. Is it too late to repent? The Advocate walks in the court pleading for you.  Only by the blood of the innocent lamb can your sin be reconciled before the JUDGE of ALL.  ONE lamb, one Perfect Lamb without sin, without blemish has already paid the price for your wicked and vile ways.

You say, not I. There is none, no not one without sin. Washington, DC you are on serious trial. Christians run around thinking they are doing God’s will, but yet serve under the dictates of the government on land defiled by Egyptian gods.  Why do foreign personages call him King Obama? The US Capitol is laid out according to ancient Egyptian pagan beliefs under the Star Sirius, a dome and the obelisk dedicated to Washington. Is it a gateway to heaven or the gateway to hell? A covenant breaking government with thousands of First Nations skeletons in its museum’s closets? Over 900 broken treaties with the host peoples. You say, “We must return to our foundations as a Christian nation.”  You error.  We are called in Micah to do justice, to remember mercy, and to walk humbly before YHWH. Restoring what we have stolen, the covenants we have broken.  We are but guests on the land. A land that is about to spew us out for our defilement. YHWH is angry, can’t you see?

Where are the men? The men of God? Not thirty third degree Freemasons, or Knights Templar, or Skull and Bones. Not shamans.  Where are the Jeremiah’s? The Isaiah’s? The Pauls? The Stephen’s. Few and far between.

Standing in Caesarea Philippi, known for being a prominent pagan site dedicated to Baal, Yeshua declared before Satan the father of lies and all the principalities and powers  that He would build His church on the Rock, his living stones and all the gates of hell would not prevail. That all the demons of  hell could not turn back what He was to accomplish by His redeeming blood on the cross at Calvary.

The Dalai Lama may have his day, his little party. He like all men will pass away. He is just a man. He claims no perfection.  But at this hour, I ask,  “Where are the Mongolian Christians? The Bhutanese Christians? The Tibetan Christians? The Burmese Christians? The Japanese Christians? The Korean Christians? The Chinese Christians? Do I dare call you bold brothers and sisters for the faith? Will you stand fast against these vile rituals or do you too, like most of the lukewarm Christians in America fail to recognize  Jesus your Savior in public? Are you ashamed? Where do all the gatekeepers hide?

Beware of Greeks bearing gifts. When the Trojan horse was brought into Troy, some immediately said, “Burn it!”  They smelled treachery. How many members of the US Congress know what the Dalai Lama stands for? He openly claims in front of former George W. Bush at Southern Methodist University that he’s a Marxist and proud of saying it in a capitalist country.” The audience applauds. Troy was destroyed that day.  Change the name, the acts of deceit are the same. As King Solomon said, “There is nothing new under the sun.”  Nothing happens the same, but forget your roots, live in unrepentant sin, and the long suffering One whose judgments are righteous and true has a set time for His court. The witnesses are watching, be they the mountains, the seas, the rivers, the men of the Most High YHWH.

The only sure compass is the Word of God and only then properly interpreted.  Sound the trumpet. There is an enemy in the gates. That enemy is of our own making and ignorance.  That is the most troubling thing. “A Great Civilization is not conquered from without until it is conquered from within.” (Will Durant).

“If we and our posterity shall be true to the Christian religion, if we and they shall live always in the fear of God and shall respect His commandments, … we may have the highest hopes of the future fortunes of our country..But if we and our posterity neglect religious instruction and authority, violate the rules of eternal justice, trifle with the injunctions of morality, and recklessly destroy the political constitution that holds us together, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us that shall bury all our glory in profound obscurity.”  Daniel Webster.

Revisiting 2000

Could it be those arrows of God were unleashed in Washington D.C. against the idols of our nation? I also wonder if the draught, the onslaught of fires in our country this summer are a manifestation of God’s judgment for our unbelief as a people and for our lukewarm faith? 

Will we awake from our stupor? From worshipping Baal of the stock market? The Greek gods of the sports arenas? The whore of Hollywood’s gross entertainment? Can we see the invisible spiritual war that rages in our midst?

WASHINGTON, D.C.Our contact with the Christian community in Washington, D.C. came about several years ago, after the Lord brought their attention to a Buddhist group at nearby Poolesville who was constructing a Buddhist prayer monument and channeling spiritual energy upon the US Congress, White House and Supreme Court. Their Buddhist monastery near D.C. is called Kunzang Palyul Choling (KPC) a.k.a. the World Prayer Center. Catherine Burroughs who adopted the Buddhist name, Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo is the founder of KPC, the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in America. She is also the subject of Martha Sherrill’s provocative journalistic expose of The Buddha from Brooklyn which investigates Jetsunma’s Buddhist monastic cult from an insider’s point of view. Here is American Buddhist pluralism at its most seductive apex. Previous to KPC’s founding she had a dream wherein , “A dove came down and began to circle her head. A voice said, “You are the light of the world…this is who you are.” She was recognized by a Tibetan religious leader as the reincarnation of a seventeenth century Tibetan Buddhist nun and is the subject of “deity yoga” in which devotees spend hours visualizing the lama and “becoming one with him or her.” Team members joined us from Asia, Washington, Colorado, California, Connecticut and the D.C. area and focused upon prayer and outreach at the Smithsonian http://www.si.edu/festival/future.htm which co-hosted a two-week outdoor exhibit on the National Mall of “Tibetan Culture Beyond the Land of Snows”. Over two million visitors were said to have visited the Folklife Festival. Our time there for seven days was packed with difficult spiritual work. The Conservancy for Tibetan Art and Culture’s stated purpose for the event was, “At a time when anger, intolerance and violence are rampant throughout the world, the wisdom and compassion of Tibet’s unique Buddhist culture offer a path of development the world cannot afford to lose” http://www.tibetanculture.org/beyond.htm.  Although, I appreciate and love the Tibetan people and many aspects of their colorful culture, and believe it is our duty to defend their right to free religious expression, we have the Christian duty to question their underlying Buddhist agenda and belief that Tibetan Buddhism is the answer America’s problems.  If Tibetan Buddhism thinks it provides the answer, then why was it unable to withstand it’s own demise in Tibet? It is our contention that it is introducing a tantric idolatry to our nation which brings with it not seeds of peace, but seeds of destruction. While we do believe in religious liberty, do we not hold to a separation of Church and State? The Supreme Court ruled against prayer in public arenas just weeks before, but here was an event paid for by millions of American tax dollars which featured burning incense, prayer wheels, spiritual sand paintings, prayer monuments, and public Tibetan prayer by the spiritual head of the entire Tibetan Buddhist world. They have a right to assemble as did the Nation of Islam, Promise Keepers and others, but one former State Supreme Court Justice questioned their right to have major public financial backing for a spiritual gathering on the National Mall. The Smithsonian catalogue in 26 pages did much to promote Tibetan Buddhism, religious art, nuns, and the spread of the Buddhist Dharma (teaching) groups in the West. This is tantamount to a State Church being given financing. As Christians we believe that God loves the Tibetan people who He created as equals, but He also detests all idolatry. Our nation was not founded on Buddhist principals, it was founded on Judaic-Christian principals. Even though many may contend we live in a post-Christian society which is there right to proclaim, it is our undying commitment that we must continue to call our nation back to its original foundations, while still repenting for our historic failings, e.g., mistreatment of Native Americans and African Americans. Our first morning in Washington began with a seminar on strategic intercession for several local prayer groups. We spent much time in confession, heartfelt worship and praise, foundational teaching, and memorable fellowship those days. We were invited to have lunch in the Senate Cafeteria, but I missed the famous Bean Soup. The ride on the underground railroad past all the State flags was an intriguing surprise. That afternoon, our team was invited to attend a meeting in Rayburn Hall in the Capitol to prayerfully listen to five members of the Knesset and various members of Congress address the present state of US-Israeli Relations (hosted by the National Unity Coalition for Israel). Christians, Jews and Congressmen asked that Israel rescind it’s offer from China to build an AWAC for long distance detection of air warfare. This contract’s fulfillment essentially would of handicapped any American military support of Taiwan. It may be because of this meeting and prayers that the contract was later withdrawn. After the meeting, I was escorted and introduced to Craig Lotz, who was in Washington, D.C. with 400 dedicated youth from the Northwest who had been fasting for forty days and crying out for revival in America. I had heard about this group, but had previously been unable to contact them. It is so striking to see how God ordains our steps. The next thing I knew is we were walking to the very same church where we had just been on our face in confession that morning. I shared my heart with 400 students I confessed my role as a former Buddhist leader thirty years ago who converted many students to Buddhism and asked for their forgiveness. I concluded by sharing the story of my redemption in Christ, our mission and purpose for being in Washington that week. It was a powerful Kairos moment. That evening was concluded with Shabbat (a weekly religious meal celebrated by the Jews to begin their day of worship on Friday evening at sundown) with our wonderful host, Betty and Charlie. God visited us that evening in a profound way. The transparency, and loving openness of each team member revealed the light of heaven. Each shared a story of God’s gracious hand in guiding them through a dark period of pilgrimage in their life. Gene spoke of the love of God. Sally of God’s miracle of bringing a Vietnamese son into her life. Linda of God’s friendship through friends who understood her personal trials. Bernie, a Sinhalese Sri Lankan, shared his conversion story and his commercial exploits of buying pepper in India. Sam W., a Tamil Sri Lankan (you know there is a civil war in Sri Lanka between the two groups?), shared how the Christian compassion Bernie conveyed to him influenced his life. What a blessed evening! Do you remember me asking you to pray for my healing from the daily headaches I’ve had for the last three years? That night God worked deeply in my life as Sally, Bernie, and Sam prayed for me. Since then I have taken only two aspirin. I am very grateful to God for answering your prayers! On Saturday, July 1 “Tibetan American Day,” we witnessed thousands protesting for “A Free Tibet” as they proceeded from the White House to the Chinese Embassy. Eric drove up from North Carolina and was able to capture two days of events on video which will eventually be edited into a short video presentation.

We looked in on the Cabinet room and Oval office, where so many important decisions have been made for our country. Seeing Kennedy’s desk in the Oval Office where his son “little John, Jr.” hid was sadly nostalgic in light of his recent tragic death. Visiting the West Wing with Bernie who is a Sri Lankan American helped me appreciate the greatness of this office from an immigrant’s point of view who echo’ed my desire to see it return to its proper dignified role.The night before the Great Tibetan Prayer Festival (Monlam Chenmo), thousands of Buddhist prayer candles were lit up on the grounds of the National Mall. Later that night, Sally from California, was awakened by an awful vision of hoards of demonic giants marching on the Mall. Providentially, the leadership of the 400 youth, who had no foreknowledge of the Dalai Lama’s event, had arranged a permit way back in January to meet on the National Mall repenting for the sins of our nation on Sunday July 2 from 10:30-12:30 PM at the same exact time the Monlam Chenmo Great Prayer Festival was to be conducted by the Dalai Lama. Bernie said, “Can you believe it?” I said, “Wow. Nothing takes God by surprise, nothing.” On the morning of July 2, we silently prayed to the Lord with divine authority against the Great Tibetan Prayer Festival (Monlam Chenmo) ceremony. We proclaimed in agreement what Craig Lotz’s group had shared with us, of Nehemiah’s word to Sanballat, that God’s people had an historic right and responsibility to contend for the rebuilding of the wall which Sanballat stood against. We too took that as our call to responsibly stand in the gap for our nation against the idolatrous practices of the Dalai Lama and his followers in America, who were burning incense, chanting incantations to demonic deities during the ceremony. We who propagated Buddhism in the seventies and eighties and now follow Jesus Christ confessed and repented for our contribution to the present assault of Buddhism. Between the youth crying out to God and the Dalai Lama’s prayer convocation was an incredible banner sent out from California which was a spiritual act of worship painted by Kathy Paine in 1997. It is of “The Lion of the Tribe of Judah” roaring from Zion against the enemies of God. These enemies are not the Tibetan people, but the “principalities and powers,” the “forces of wickedness” that keep the Tibetan people in bondage. This symbol of God’s power was a testimony against the powerless thangkas (religious paintings) of Buddhist deities that were a backdrop to the Dalai Lama and the chanting monks at the Monlam Chenmo. Let us remember this title of Christ–the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Satan the counterfeiter is only “like a lion.” God has set before us a blessing or a curse. If you obey His commands, “The LORD will command the blessing upon you in your barns and in all that you put your hand to, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you… the LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself, as He swore to you…” (Deuteronomy 28:8-9). However, if we worship idols, burn incense to other gods, turn prayer wheels, build vain sand mandalas and prayer monuments to false deities, He has promised to curse us. This is instructive to the Tibetan people who may wonder why God has judged their nation and to us if we do not turn away from our nation’s present wickedness. God is long-suffering and yet His judgments are righteous and forthcoming. He said, “The LORD will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as the eagle swoops down, a nation whose language you shall not understand, a nation of fierce countenance who shall have no respect for the old, nor show favor to the young.” This will all come about “If you are not careful to observe all the words of this law which are written in this book, to fear this honored and awesome name the LORD your God…” (Deut. 28:49,58). In George Washington’s famous vision at Valley Forge, it was revealed to him that three great wars would confront this country. Two have already taken place. The third vision was of a great cloud of judgment rolling in across the nation and bright explosive lights destroying many cities. Followed by an Angel with a banner proclaiming this far and no more. The price of the sacrifice for our years of disobedience was the blood of consecrated youth, not unlike the terrible letting of brother’s blood during the Civil War. We spent time in confession and reconciliation with fellow believers and in repentance along with the many youth which is a powerful intercessory weapon. Those who mock prayer, will be mocked in the end. As we prayed, and many of you know I am not given to visions, I had a powerful vision of huge arrows without shafts in the form of “v’s” being shot rapidly out of a powerful black granite fortress towards the Great Tibetan Prayer Festival (Monlam Chenmo). I felt I had witnessed a visible act of divine judgment of our Almighty God in response to the heartfelt cries out of youth in the gap. Truly “God is not a passive or indifferent spectator of events that take place in the world” (MacArthur’s sermon notes). (not against the Tibetan people, but the false deities of Vajrayana Buddhism originally from India). Remember the words of God through Moses warning His people that, “They have provoked Me with their idols… For a fire is kindled in My anger, and burns to the lowest part of Sheol (Hell) and consumes the earth with its yield, and sets on fire the foundations of the mountains. I will heap misfortunes on them; I will use My arrows on them” (Deuteronomy 32:23 ).  Could it be those arrows of God were unleashed in Washington D.C. against the idols of our nation? I have wounded, and it is I who heal; And there is none who can deliver from My hand. Indeed, I lift up My hand to heaven, and say, as I live forever, If I sharpen My flashing sword, And My hand takes hold on justice, I will render vengeance on My adversaries, and I will repay those who hate Me. I will make My arrows drunk with blood” (Deu. 32:39-42). The night before, Bernie, who is also not given to visions had a dream of a demonic gathering in front of the Lincoln Memorial. On the morning of July 3, we hurried out to witness the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Now a re-enactment like that wouldn’t be unusual in D.C. except for the fact that it was being done in front of the Lincoln Memorial by a group of Free Tibet sympathizers from America and 13 Tibetan Buddhist monks and high government officials. It strikes me as strange that they would sign a document whose foundational beliefs are in a Creator God, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.” Right: Picture of a leader from the Tibetan government-in-exile, a formerly imprisoned nun, Lamas, and American Free Tibet advocates speaking in front of the Lincoln Memorial after signing another page of the American Declaration of Independence. First of all, Tibetan Buddhists don’t believe in a Creator God. Secondly, they don’t believe in equal rights. Any layperson in Tibet would say, “The Lama knows” inferring that their religious leaders are above the law of the common man. Ask any member of the Shugden Organization which has been demonstrating against the recent repression of their worship of an outlawed deity by the Dalai Lama’s government-in-exile. The forced signature campaign and religious suppression by the Dalai Lama’s monks has been likened by Shugden followers to “those things (that) happened in Nazi Germany” (Hindustan Times, “Tibetan sect up in arms against Dalai” by Poornima Joshi June 26). When I heard the speeches I recognized the heartfelt need for our Tibetan friends to be free, but it was a bit too Hollywood for me and also an affront at the Lincoln Memorial where a President who loved God is memorialized. Earlier that morning, I was profoundly moved by the words of Abraham Lincoln, “On the 30th Day of April in 1863, President Lincoln issued this proclamation for a National Day of Fasting, humiliation and prayer. He said, “We have been recipients of the choicest bounties of heaven. We have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation has ever grown. We have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand, which has preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us. We have vainly imagined in the deceitfulness of our hearts that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated by unbroken success, we have become too self sufficient, and too proud to pray to the God that made us. It behooves us then to humble ourselves before the offended power to confess our national sins and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.” The question posed to the Christian community originally about the tidal wave of Buddhism in America was, “Who opened the door?” I read some interesting commentary on a site by Ron Campbell called Jeremiah Project  which shows how all of Washington, D.C. is laid out in Masonic ritualistic form and is dedicated at a deeper level to the sun god. Ron Campbell asked, “To what deity was Washington, D.C. dedicated? Is it possible that through Masonic rituals, our nation’s government has been symbolically offered to the kingdom of darkness?” He also addresses the falsehood of Masonry, a secret religious and fraternal order. The Mason, “Manley Hall wrote that a Mason’s religion ‘Must be universal: Christ, Buddha or Mohammed, the name means little for he recognizes only the light and not the bearer.” However, “Roman Catholics, Assemblies of God, and Presbyterian Church of America, and Missouri Synod Lutherans, have said membership in a Masonic Lodge is incompatible with the Christian faith.” The Southern Baptists have refused to admit to this “Preacher’s during the First and Second Great Awakening condemned it (Freemasonry)” along with the famous evangelist Charles Finney who openly opposed freemasonry.” Could we not agree then with the Prophet Isaiah’s confession? “Woe is me, for I am a man of unclean lips among a people of unclean lips” Are we standing for what we believe or are we like the proverbial frog in the boiling pot, being heated degree by degree until the frog is too complacent to act any longer and boils to death? The last event on the Tibetan Buddhist’s event schedule was the dismantling of the Sand Mandala. To most, this would seem anti-climatic, but to Bernie, this was the most critical time for spiritual warfare. In his former Buddhist days in Sri Lanka, India and Japan, he had been raised as a Buddhist guru by the famous monks in Sri Lanka who knew Colonel Henry Steele Olcott, Madame Blavatsky and Dharmapala, the famous Buddhist revivalist. At the final sweeping ceremony of the mandala, he had previously been eyewitness to the instantaneous spirit possession of seekers who gathered to be possessed by the demons who had been invoked into the Mandala. He knew that following the dismantling, the sands would be meticulously swept up and dumped into a local body of water to impart demons into the environment. This time it would be into the Potomac, the river running through our nation’s Capitol. Bernie said the mandala  was ‘inhabited by 22 legions of deities.’ He observed that ‘the Mandala which must be broken down before a certain hour. That hour kept being delayed for which the chief lama had to apologize to the deities.’ This Bernie attributed to the presence of praying Christians. As we waited the Lama explained how the mandala was dedicated to the Patron deity of Tibet, Avalokitsevara.’ There are four symbolic gates. The lama went on to explain the dark power of the deities and how this mandala will be built in many colleges, high schools, and museums around the country as part of their program to bring Tibetan Buddhism to America. As I listened, I was reminded of what Bernie had said earlier. “Buddhists are making plans one to two generations down the road.” Alicia Matsunaga, the author of The Buddhist Philosophy of Assimilation  gave an example of how Buddhism was originally introduced into Confucian China. Their first step was the preliminary introduction of the Dharma (the Buddhist Law). The next step which took about eighty years was the translation of their scriptures in the language of the host country. The third step was the implementation of honji-suijaku, the doctrine of assimilation, the process when Buddhists seek out the areas of commonality, wherein Buddhists would appear in the eyes of the common people to have much in common with their own religion. Where is Buddhism today on that timeline? In 1893, Dharmapala came to Chicago to attend the Parliament of the World’s Religions and planted seeds which today are bearing fruit in America. The Publisher Paul Carus who attended utilized his company, Open Court Publishers to further promote his Buddhist faith. Today, their textbooks are being considered for use in elementary schools within the entire Los Angeles Unified School District, one of the largest in the world. According to one Open Court employee, their textbook sales are financing Buddhist translation work in California. Left: Children surround the monks constructing the sand mandala and are intrigued by its color and symbolism unknowingly being exposed to a spiritual channeling tool that is temporary home to 722 deities we would call demons. We were standing there in spiritual defense to protect our country from the unleashing of these demonic hoards. Bernie in his past as a Buddhist guru would actually communicate with these demons and said that they are held to the ritual to be released upon the invocation of the lamas. At that point they would travel horizontally and possess those seeking possession. Because of our presence and prayer to God, they were bound to depart from there back to their abode. Strangely all the sands were swept up and given out to those who were standing around. Although that was not good, it was far better than a general dispersal of these into the local environment. Bernie reflected, ‘God gave us a great victory as their process of dismantling the mandala did not follow the traditional lines as we bound the powers and restricted their transferability. The lamas could not disperse the demonic powers. The chief lama even had to apologize to the deities for this act. This was most significant because Washington, D.C. is the most prominent city in the world.” A time of rejoicing in God’s victory as we reported to various prayer groups at the trust. Tools for Peace Glendale. After getting back to California, we engaged in training students that were preparing for ministry in the Theravada and Tibetan Buddhist world. During July, Tom G. (a journalist) and I visited the construction site of a permanent three dimensional mandala symbolizing the Buddhist universe at Glendale’s Forest Lawn Cemetery. The “Shi-tro Mandala for Universal Peace” project was particularly disturbing to me as it is being constructed where my grandparents are buried. Most of the motifs at the cemetery up to this time have been biblical and is famous for its 120 foot painting of the Crucifixion. According to the “Tools for Peace” literature, they have established a community outreach program that will accompany the Mandala to “teach peace education to youth and those educating youth.” The curriculum is “centered on the basic structure of the mandala.” The exhibit and program will be traveling to Washington, D.C., schools, museums and parks around the nation in order to put on workshops for “at-risk youth populations to turn them away from violent and destructive behaviors” and work with local police departments. They are partnered with the Glendale non-profit “We Care for Youth.” The mandala however is not spiritually neutral. If it is so powerful, one might ask, “Why did it not protect Tibet from the genocide of over one-million Tibetans and the destruction of 7,500 Buddhist temples by the Chinese? Secondly, because of its deeply religious connotations, how is it that it can be shown in schools and where Christian programs are banned?

Humanity’s Greatest Crime

The early Church Father Tertullian (c. 160-c.220AD) was raised in Carthage and an apologist of the early church who fought against the heresy of Marcion as well as Christian Gnosticism. In his writings “On Idolatry” he wrote,

“The principal crime of the human race, the highest guilt charged upon the world, the whole procuring cause of judgment, is idolatry … Set aside names, examine works, the idolater is likewise a murderer. Do you inquire whom he has slain? If it contributes ought to the aggravation of the indictment, no stranger nor personal enemy, but his own self. By what snares? Those of his error. By what weapon? The offense done to God. By how many blows?

. The essence of fraud, I take it, is, that any should seize what is another’s, or refuse to another his due; and, of course, fraud done toward man is a name of greatest crime. Well, but idolatry does fraud to God, by refusing to Him, and conferring on others, His honours .”

I recall as a fairly new Christian in the ministry being called by a leader of a local seminary to come down and look at some items that he felt would be good for our ministry work among Buddhists.  When I arrived he took me into a room and showed me some very expensive Jade statues of Buddha and an old family ancestral tablet in an religious type cabinet. He said, “I think these would be very good to show your students what Buddhists actually have in their homes.”

I said, “That I might be able use some of the books for research, but I would have to prayerfully consider his offer.”

As I walked towards my office, a passage from His Word came to me:

“Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?

Or can a man walk on hot coals and his feet not be scorched? –Proverbs 6:27-28

How could I bring into my home, items that were an absolute abhorrence to the LORD Jesus Christ whom I love and serve?  Not only that, but it was disobedient to the Ten Commandments. How could I have an idol in my home or in my office? It would be a great offense to the LORD and to those who had left Buddhism. It would be like having a stack of pornographic magazines which give sin an opportunity and open door.  I turned around and walked into the Seminary office and said, “I don’t think these are items which would honor the LORD. In fact, I don’t think any of these items should be in a seminary as well. I would suggest that they be destroyed.

When my wife and I confessed Jesus Christ as LORD and gave Him our life, the very next day, we wrapped up our Tokibitsu Gohonzon, we called it our object of worship, and also our two special Amamori Gohonzons and then I walked to the World Culture Center and gave them back to the organization.  I was not instructed as to how I was to deal with my idols, but felt that since they were actually “on loan” to us from the organization, we should return them. When I did so, one of my colleagues at the World Culture Center, Ann Hagihara, said, “You can’t do this. You must return them to your headquarters.”

I said, “You don’t understand. I am not part of your system anymore.”

Ann knowing that I had been a very devout Buddhist for fourteen years said, “Do you want to see a counselor? Are you feeling okay?”

My response was, “I’ve never felt better in my whole life.”

It may be a case of “Render unto Caesar what it Caesar’s and unto God what is Gods.”

MAY 1, 2011 LONG BEACH CALIFORNIA TIBETAN SAND MANDALA

I remember seeing movie billboards advertising “Battle for LA” about an alien invasion.  Many times, it seems that Hollywood mirrors the angst of our culture.  On March 10, 2011 I visited an old friend from Montana who’d come down with aging Father to visit his brother in Long Beach.  After breakfast we walked down to wharf where you could see the permanent anchorage of the HMS Queen Mary and also the Los Angeles river channel into Long Beach Harbor. I’d mentioned how Maria Schwarzenegger had made a trip to Dharmasala, India to invite the Dalai Lama to address the 20,000 women leaders who would be attending the First Lady of California’s Woman’s Conference.  At the Conference, the Dalai Lama lead the women briefly in Buddhist meditation after his talk where he spoke to them of their important role in shaping society.

I also shared the fact that the Dalai Lama was about to visit Southern California in early May for a series of talks at USC, UCLA, UC Irvine and conducting the Highest Yoga Tantra Ritual which would occasion the invitation of high level Tibetan Shamans and tantric practitioners. That Long Beach was an international Gateway city which has been a high level terrorist target.  That we’d been involved in a number of prayer initiatives asking the LORD’s protection over the harbor.

After I left, I drove by the” Battle for LA” Billboards which were in the same proximity of the Harold Camping Billboards warning that Judgment Day would begin on May 21, 2011 at 6 p.m. So many people were falling prey to another date based prophecy about end times.  Little did the world know that the next morning, not May 21, but on March 11, that a record 9.0 magnitude earthquake would hit Sendai, Japan. Now called the Great  East Japan Earthquake,  it was followed by a horrific Tsunami and a nuclear meltdown.  So far the death toll has reached 15,457 deaths,  5,389 injured, with  7,676 people still missing.

I called my friend early that morning and warned him that there was a Pacific Tsunami alert on the West Coast of California as well.  

A SPIRITUAL TSUNAMI IN CALIFORNIA

I recall attending the Urbana Student Mission Conference back in 1990 and reading a quote on one of the University of Illinois buildings by Edmund Burke that strongly resonated with me.  He said, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”  A watchman must stand fast in his post. 

The Dalai Lama was slated to lead the Highest Yoga Tantra in Long Beach which also involved the building of a special sand mandala. As I conducted research on the sand mandala, I discovered that it was to Yamantaka. Why? As I conducted my research, it appeared that it ties into the Kalachakra Mandala that is being built in Washington, DC in July.  The entire North American continent, Turtle Island is part of that Mandala system.  Yamantaka is the Tibetan Buddhist god of the west gate of the Kalachakra mandala. West Gate=Long Beach. According to Don Upham, ‘thirty four percent of this nation’s commerce passes” through Long Beach.  After the 1994 Northridge earthquake, the Thubten Dargye Ling moved from the Culver City area to Long Beach, California. Long Beach is a major gate between Santa Monica and Irvine. 

In 1990, I gave several talks to students interested in mission to Buddhists and I began by stating that this talk has a warning label. It comes from Ezekiel 33: ..if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood.’

I have been warning those in the West extensively since 1990 about the dangerous incursion of Buddhism in North America and the ramifications.  So when I called to see if anyone was going to deal with the Yamataka Mandala in Long Beach, I did not find any parties that seemed to be going down there to confront it. So, after much prayerful  preparation, communion, and sanctification, I decided it was time to take the battle to the gates and address the spirits that were about to be released from the Sand Mandala.

FIRST, I  prayed earlier at Long Beach State College where the Dalai Lama was to go later in the week.  We had  heard that he was ill in Japan and would not be able to make it on Sunday to Long Beach, nor to UCLA on Monday.   This did not deter me.  I made proclamations written on a wooden stake based upon Deuteronomy 28, pounded it into the ground as a declaration. I  then read it before the Court of Heaven addressed it to principalities and powers that YHWH was setting before the State of California, blessings and curses. After taking communion, I walked around the Long Beach State obelisks as a testimony against them. I don’t know if they were built with any malice in mind by the original artists, but know it was a statement, recognizing that there has been witchcraft on this site and pled the blood of Yeshua upon the students to protect them and call them to repentance before the YHWH of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. To serve the King of Kings Yeshua Ha’Moshiach.    I then sensed in the Spirit of the LORD that it was time to go down to the Long Beach Terrace Theater where the sand mandala was built and about to be desconstructed.   

When I found out that the Sand mandala was being deconstructed, I walked into the room precisely as the Tibetan shamans were chanting their incantations and scooping up the sands.  I had been given Ezekiel 14. They had just ended their chanting rituals and were scooping up the sand as over 1oo people were looking on awaiting the dispersal of sand in which some would be given to them and another deposited in the sea.  While I was silently praying against the principalities which I had already done by name, I heard from the LORD, “Watchman I will require the blood from your hand if you do not warn them.’  So I began reading the Ezekiel 14:6-7 out loud.

“Therefore say to the people of Israel, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!

 7 “‘When any of the Israelites or any foreigner residing in Israel separate themselves from me and set up idols in their hearts and put a wicked stumbling block before their faces and then go to a prophet to inquire of me, I the LORD will answer them myself. 8 I will set my face against them and make them an example and a byword. I will remove them from my people. Then you will know that I am the LORD.”

At that point guards were coming up to me, people were telling me to be quiet with ONE MAJOR exception, someone behind me, said to the crowd, “Let him finish.”

I then finished reading the Word against idolatry and then said, “Repent, and turn back from your idols, and turn back your faces from all your abomination.  I am warning you in the Name of Yeshua, Jesus Christ and YHWH, not to take this cursed sand into your hands or homes. It is defiled.  If you take it into homes you will bring judgment into your homes and into this city and State and Nation.

YHWH says your gods are not welcome in this nation.   I’m finished.

I then left behind some wine from Passover in which the curses of Egypt were poured. If you do not repent, these curses will certainly come upon you and your household.

THIS WAS TO SERVE NOTICE TO THE PRINCIPALITIES AND POWERS OF THE TIBETAN SHAMBHALA/KALACHAKRA RITUALS, THAT THEY ARE NOT WELCOME IN THIS LAND. AS PEOPLE, YES, YOUR FALSE GODS NO.

It’s so interesting when Ryrie comments on Daniel 7:24-27. “Antichrist will march to power by subduing three of the ten nations (v.24), will blaspheme God (v. 25), will try in some way to change times and laws in order to promote his anti-Christian program (v. 25), and will persecute God’s saints (they, v. 25) for the last three and one-half years of the Tribulation period.”

The Kalachakra ceremony is conducted by the Tibetan god of time. Kala=time, Chakra=Circle.

“And he will speak out against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and law; and they will be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time.

But the court will sit for judgment, and his dominion will be taken away, annihilated and destroyed forever.” 

Not by power, but by My Spirit thus says the LORD.

Although Shakespeare penned this work nearly two hundred years after the Battle of Agincourt (1415), it remains the finest dramatic interpretation of what leadership meant to the men in the Middle Ages.

Prior to the Battle, Henry V had led his English footmen across Northwestern France, seizing Calais and other cities in an attempt to win back holds in France that had once been in English possession and to claim the French crown through the obscure but powerful Salig Law.

The French, aware of Henry’s troops weakening condition because of their distance from England and the attacks of dysentery that had plagued the dwindling band, moved between King Henry and Calais, the port he needed to reach in order to return to England. The troops followed Henry’s band along the rivers, preventing their crossing and daring them to a battle they thought they could not win.

The English knights fought on foot after the manner devised by Edward III. Archers were to be used in support, the English and Welsh longbows having established their credentials both at Crecy (1347) and at Poitiers (1356). But here the French seemed to have sufficient numbers to deal with even this threat, and they refused to allow Henry pass, angered by the English seizure of the cities.

Morale in the English line as they looked upon the overwhelming force of heavily armored, highly skilled French knights must have been extremely low. King Henry, rising to the occasion, spoke words of encouragement that rallied the English troops and carried them to a victory. As a result of the victory the French Princess Catherine was betrothed to Henry V, and France and England were at peace for the remainder of Henry’s short life. He perished of dysentery in 1422, but was survived by his son (Henry VI) and was buried at Westminster Abbey, close to the shrine of Edward the Confessor.

Although the speech below is a work of fiction, it is evocative of the spirit with which Henry–and all strong medieval kings–ruled through the strength of their convictions and by force of their personality.

Parking is an event at Grace Community Church on Sunday mornings. If you miss the window of time and are late by ten minutes you have to park at another lot which is a ten minute walk away. I was late, so I dropped off my family and as I was walking to the church, I struck up a quick conversation with another late arriver, who happened to be seminary student.  After a couple of minutes, I asked him, “So, do they teach you how to minister to Buddhists or those in other faiths?”

He simply responded, “No. We spend so much time on Greek, Hebrew, Hermeneutics, Exposition, etc., that we have no time to study world religions.”

I then jokingly remarked, “So, I guess you’re going to be working in a rural area.”

“Not quite,” he replied. “I’m going to be working in Chicago and really do need training on how to share the Gospel in a pluralist context.”

To be fair, Dr. John MacArthur is known to do his homework and tackles difficult subjects like Islam and has addressed it on “Larry King Live” and not backed down. He has been a fierce theological lion protecting the Narrow Gate in the public square. You know where he stands. May his tribe increase! 

If men are not equipped first to properly handle the Word of God, they don’t have a leg to stand on to judge right from wrong. They can’t see.  If you can’t see, then it’s a case of the blind leading the blind. Few are equipped to contend in the public square where they are “naked” and exposed.  I don’t mean physically stripped down, but when speaking in the public square one doesn’t have a pulpit and congregation to hide behind.     

In England, radical Moslems and Christians vigorously debate in Picadelly Circus, a square in downtown London. So what do we do in America? The latest it seems finds Americans opting out for a “Chrislam”, the newest brand name for a peaceful spiritual, non-offensive, politically correct interchange between Christianity and Islam in the Churches. Remove the “offensive cross”, pull out your Koran and Bible and compare verses. Well at least the ones that are not offensive. We are the Rodney King generation, “Can’t we all just get along?” Trouble is, neither contends for their faith openly. We don’t want to offend anyone. Americans don’t know how to debate. We’ve been dumbed down. 

Apologetics is needed more than ever in the seminaries. Strike that. More than ever in the Church among the priesthood of ALL believers. But we are like the Sunday afternoon sailor who doesn’t want to sail too far away from the shore, so we stick with the cults that typically knock at our door, Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons and leave the difficult sailing to the “experts.”  Trouble is,  that we no longer live in such a simple society as our new neighbors that have moved in next door are Buddhists, Hindus, Moslems, Sikhs, or just plain don’t care about anything except making a dollar.

We like the old Clint Eastwood movies where the hired gunslinger comes to town harassed by the cowboy ganstas, the townspeople slap a sheriff’s badge on him and he takes the heat, while they huddle like a bunch of frightened hens in a chicken coop. He rallies them, they kill the bad guys and he rides out of town.

That’s been my experience. After twenty two years of mission work, I recognized that the Church wasn’t equipping the flock to share the Gospel in our pluralistic society and probably wouldn’t venture far from shore to do so. They do what they do best. So, here we are, doing damage control and finding little help, again, from the Church to deal with the politically correct missionary Buddhism of the Dalai Lama.

We wait for Chicken Little to run around crying, “The sky is falling, the sky is falling.” And when it doesn’t fall on our head, we go about our daily routine, not realizing that the temperature of the kettle we’re in has just been raised by one more degree. You’ve heard that story about the frog in the kettle? Throw him in a five quart pan of water and slowly raise the temperature of the water and basically the frog is lulled to death, or should I say boiled to death!  A slow death.

WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

 Rita Mae Brown, not Albert Einstein said, “Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.”  Haven’t read her book, don’t know who she is, but good quote. So here we are, same time, same channel. The Dalai Lama is coming to town. Sounds like the Santa Claus tune. So, everybody lines up, gets their $76 ticket, the cheapest seat in the house at Verizon Center in Washington, DC with an audience capacity of 20,000. Or you could opt for the $396 ticket. Ten days of ceremonies training them to become citizens in the Shambhala kingdom.

A few Christians see the danger, the rest are on summer vacation.   

“Who me?”

“Well, do you think it’s an issue?”

“Frankly, I think you’re making a mountain out of a molehole.”

“So you’re okay with him doing his thing in Washington, DC?”

“Yeh, I’m okay.”

“So it’s “I’m okay, you’re okay is it?”

“Why not ok? Oh forget it. I don’t have time to hear about this crazy conspiracy theory stuff!”

“Whatever floats your boat.”

“Are you being sarcastic?”

“Hey, if you want to bury your head in the sand like an ostrich, go right ahead. But don’t tell me that you weren’t warned.”

“Warned about what? The cuddly giggly grandpa type guy from Tibet that wears those sun visors and ugly brown Gucci shoes?”

“Take our course. It’s all there. First week is only $1. What’s stopping you? Too busy? Buddhism is breaking out all over like the chicken pocks. Let me ask you? Do you believe in Reincarnation? Cremation?  If you do, you’ve already been sold the goods and don’t even know it! Did you know that cremation has never been a Jewish or Christian practice? Did you also know that it was actually introduced into America by Colonel Henry Steele Olcott, a White Buddhist who fought a court case in New York over a hundred years ago to be able to do so? http://www.worldviews101.com.

Psalms 49:20 struck me as I thought about the popularity of the Dalai Lama.

“Man in his pomp, yet without understanding, is like the beasts that perish.”

If he or any Buddhist doesn’t know the LORD, they’ll perish. So what are you doing to be equipped to share the Gospel with your neighbor? What’s the great Commandment? “Love your LORD, your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.”

If you don’t know what they believe, you’ll never know how to share the Gospel with them. You’ll just be another ignorant Christian to them that doesn’t know the difference between an apple and an orange.

I remember a friend telling me a saying his Dad used all the time, “The one-eyed man is king in the valley of the blind.” 

I think that the real issue here is that people are lazy. They don’t study, they just talk about things which they have to do that day, or plans they make for the weekend.

Trouble is that it really doesn’t matter what you think is truth, if it is false, someone is going to get hurt, and hurt badly. Think Bernie Madoff here, or the banks. Where were the whistleblowers? The Gatekeepers? Many people are kicking themselves now, but “it’s too late baby.”

Last night, I was wrestling about this whole initiative. Attempting to get down to what it is that we’re facing here. I went to bed late, was exhausted, and totally spent. I asked Abba for His grace and healing. I’m done without you. Few are responding to the call to deal with the Kalachakra event in Washington, DC. I didn’t want to write this blog anymore, except if Yeshua wanted me to.

 When I awoke this morning, I was much refreshed even after little sleep. After coffee, I opened the Word to 2 Kings 6:1-7:20. Just what I needed to hear from Abba.

The Prophet Elisha was busy counseling the king of Israel who was at war with the king of Aram. Elisha was so right on in his prophesies and counsel that the king of Aram wanted him captured. So he sent an army in the night and surrounded the city in order to capture the Prophet. His servant was basically freaked out when he saw all the chariots and soldiers and asked his master, “What shall we do?”

Elisha said, “Don’t be afraid. Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed, “O LORD, open his eyes so that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”

“As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, “Strike these people with blindness.” So He struck them with blindness, as Elisha had asked. Elisha told them, “This is not the road and this is not the city. Follow me, and I will lead you to the man you are looking for.” (Him of course!) So he leads him into the city, asks the LORD to open their eyes and where do they find themselves? Yep! In the city of Samaria facing the army of the king of Israel.

The king asks Elisha, “Shall I kill them, my father? Shall I kill them?”

Elisha says, “Do not kill them.” I mean really are you going to kill men you’ve already captured? Feed and water them and send them back to their master.’

Well, these kings are not too smart. Really, check it out. After all that, Ben-Hadad decides he’s going to take the city. Things weren’t going well there. Food prices were out of this world. A donkey’s head was selling for a king’s ransom. It was expensive!  Two women were arguing about whose kid they were going to eat tonight for dinner!  I don’t mean a goat, I mean whose child!  It’s not really funny, but you get the point. And if it wasn’t rough enough for the Prophet Elisha, his own king is ticked at him, gone insane and rips off his clothes, and decides he wants to take off the prophet’s head.

Elisha gets wind of him coming and tells his servant to block the door. The king’s messenger knocks at the door and relays the king’s question: “this disaster is from the LORD. Why should I wait for the LORD any longer?”  Elisha knows the kings right there ready to take off his head when the door is opened. But says, “Hear the word of the LORD. This what the LORD says: About this time tomorrow, a seah of flour will sell for a shekel and two seahs of barley for a shekel at the  gate of Samaria.’

I mean, ‘such a deal!’ But the king’s messenger, unbelieving jerk that he was spouts off and says, “Look, even if the LORD should open the floodgates of heaven, could this happen?”  In modern vernacular, “In your dreams!”

Elisha said, “You will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat any of it.”

Change scenes.  Four lepers sitting at the entrance to the city gate. Starving. And talking with one another about their situation. Hey. Look. We’re going to die of starvation here. So, we’re just going to sit around waiting for a handout? In the city they’re fighting over whose son they’re going to eat for dinner. We’re not getting any scraps believe you me. So, I tell you. The enemy camp is looking real good. Hey, if they don’t feed us, they kill us! Such a deal. We’re going to die anyway. So whaddya say? Let’s take a chance and hit up their camp.

Leper’s Luck.

So they head off over to the enemy’s camp, looking for some leftovers. And did they find leftovers?! Not one of the enemy was there. All the pots were on the stove, full of the best Aramese cuisine.

Doesn’t look like they’d mind? They’re not around. Whaddya say? Wow, this is awesome! I’m full. Hey, where are they? This is weird. Some type of alien abduction? (not really they wouldn’t say that, just kiddingJ) So they look around and see some pretty nice boom boxes, clothes, and the like and take what they need, not too much mind you, just enough, hide it and say, “You know something? This isn’t right is it?’ I mean they didn’t decide to unhide their spoils, but they were good lepers, and said, let’s let our people know, pots on the stove! And the enemies gone!

So they go back, tell the king and his chief gatekeeper. But they are not too sure they’re not being set up for an ambush. So they send out scouts and find, all of the enemy has fled, leaving their food, resources, armour, shields and spears behind. “Something” has scared the dickens out of them and they ran for their lives. So the scouts come back with the good report, the king of Israel tells his chief gatekeeper to watch the front gate and then he let’s the people know “Chows on!” Ever seen a run on a Christmas sale? I mean that’s nothing. All these people were STARVING! The chief gatekeeper who didn’t believe the prophet Elisha never saw it coming. Poor dead gatekeeper. He was run over by a starving Samarian stampede.

Moral of the story? Listen to the True prophets.

In 1996, the XIV Dalai Lama was awarded the Key to the City of Pasadena. When I interviewed Dr. Arthur Glasser at Fuller School of Intercultural Studies and asked him about the award and how we as Christians might feel, he responded,

“Surely, he is a foreign personage, we should be respectful of him, but to offer him the Key to the City, Christians would tend to react. The key, the authority, what sort of authority is going to be understood by the Dalai Lama? We should speak about the seduction of idolatry.”

The following are historical examples:

 

Dark magic was at work within the walls of the “National Cathedral” (September 11, 2003) as the Dalai Lama’s special retinue of tantric practitioners were about to release a demonic hoard from the bowels of a sand mandala as it was dissolved, wherein the sands swept up, given to those attending, and the remainder cast into the waters of the Potomac.  All of this was occurring at about the same hour when ENDA legislation was being voted on in Congress which would directly end the ability of the clergy in this nation to hire those who would uphold the Laws of God and legally require their hiring practices to be inclusive, code for –not discriminating against people because of their sexual orientation, be it gay, lesbian, or transsexual.

In California, Governor Schwarzenegger whose wife invited the Dalai Lama to speak at the California First Ladies conference in Long Beach (September 2006) signed a bill prohibiting the use of “mom” and “dad” as designated terms in elementary schools, requiring schools to use inclusive language and teach elementary and secondary school children that there are “other types of family’s” recognized by our society.

As the Dalai Lama was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal (October 2007), the highest civilian honor that can be bestowed, Diane Feinstein, was sure to mention that she was the first American public leader to welcome the Dalai Lama into the United States as the Mayor of San Francisco in 1979 when she gave him the Key to the City.

 In Richard Blum’s book, Himalaya:personal stories of grandeur, challenge and hope, he recollects his wife Diane Feinstein’s story about her first meeting with the Dalai Lama.

“I first met him in Dharamsala through my husband-to-be, Richard Blum, in the fall of 1978. I was awed by his presence and moved to action. We first went to visit the Dalai Lama at his home in Dharamsala, India. The purpose of this meeting was to deliver an invitation for His Holiness to visit the city and county of San Francisco. The Dalai Lama was appreciative of the invitation. At that time he had never even been to the United States.”

Not many people remember the unfolding series of event that were then to propel Diane Feinstein into the public limelight immediately after she returned from inviting the Dalai Lama to America.

“For most San Franciscans over 40, the memory of Dianne Feinstein’s November 27, 1978 press conference announcing the assassinations of Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk remains vivid. She was distressed but controlled. She heard the gunshots, had seen the killer, former Supervisor Dan White, in the moments between the two murders and he had rebuffed her attempt to talk to him. She raced to Milk’s office, saw the fatal wound, tried to take his pulse, but knew immediately he was dead.

Only nine days earlier, 913 people, mostly former Bay Area residents, had committed mass suicide with Reverend Jim Jones in Guyana. The same year, her second and much loved husband, neurosurgeon Dr. Bertram Feinstein, had died of colon cancer. Though she had been contemplating retirement after returning the day before from a trip to the Mt. Everest area where she met the Dalai Lama, on that November day it fell to Dianne Feinstein not only to tell the world of the assassinations, but to step into Moscone’s shoes as acting mayor. The very human and capable way in which she handled the situation, and later restored confidence to the city, proved her abilities. She vaulted to the forefront among California Democratic leaders.  Later as Senator, in a speech congratulating the Dalai Lama on being awarded the Congressional Gold Medal she was sure to mention her longstanding connection to the Dalai Lama. She in fact was responsible for opening the Gate in America to the Dalai Lama.

“In September 1979, as Mayor of San Francisco, I was the first official to invite and welcome His Holiness to San Francisco to present him with a key to the City. This was his first visit to America.

As I came to know His Holiness, I have tried to be a bridge between His Holiness and the Chinese leadership.

In fact, on three separate occasions since 1991, my husband and I hand-delivered letters from His Holiness to the Chinese leadership: Asking for direct talks, reiterating his Middle Way approach and clearly stating that he does not seek independence for Tibet, but is looking to secure Tibet’s religious and cultural autonomy.

The simple truth is this: I can think of no one who more embodies the spirit of the Congressional Gold Medal than His Holiness, the Dalai Lama.”

“The Center for Public Integrity has reported that Feinstein and her husband, Richard Blum, are making millions of dollars from Iraq and Afghanistan contracts through his company, Perini.  There have also been critics who argue that Feinstein’s support of policies that are friendly to the Chinese government are because of her husband’s extensive China-related business holdings.”

AMERICAN NOMAD

My father Carlton who grew up  in Texas, desired to make his way in the world as a young man and hopped a train to California with one of his friends. He loved business and became an entrepreneur at a relatively young age and was not afraid of taking calculated risks. One summer our family went on vacation and visited Zion National Park, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Park back when gas was abundant and inexpensive. They decided to stay in Montana to raise their family. We moved quite a bit and finally settled on a 72 acre ranch in North Crowe Creek Community near the Flathead Reservation.

Our neighbors were sheep farmers and horse ranchers. We raised alfalfa for feeding livestock. I learned that our sheep farmers had to protect their flock from major predators like wolves and coyotes. Fences were critical as well as proper monitoring or sheparding of the flock. We also had a healthy respect for the forest on our property after we’d run into a black bear. Swiftly flowing canals were particularly dangerous during the springtime as well as mossy stones in creeks, and swifting flowing streams.

My living experience in the countryside was very helpful in understanding the Bible as it uses a number of agrarian terms. In many ways, Americans are modern nomads, rarely living in one home longer than five years.

As Christians, we’ve come to look at the land differently.  We are called to seek the welfare of the city we have been called into exile in. We are pilgrims on a journey out of the city of destruction. We do see ourselves as stewards of whatever we are given and attempt to take good care of the properties we live in whether or not we rent or are paying a mortgage.

When we moved into Arcadia, we went with a brother in the LORD to City Hall to pray and ask God to bless the city and to direct our steps where He wanted us to live. When we drove around the city looking at homes, we prayed over the city. We prayed for stable families, that God would pour out His Spirit upon them and that they would come to know His Son Jesus Christ our LORD. 

Finally we found the home we ended up living in for five years. When we moved in, we prayed over the four corners of the property and anointed all the windows and doors in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

When I was working on writing the chapter on the Dalai Lama and Tibetan Buddhism I began to run into more and more spiritual warfare. Our son had a garage band and we later found out that one of the band members was using drugs. One day he was drawing a picture and when I looked at it I immediately recognized it as the Chinese Zen Buddhist patriarch Bodhidharma. I said, where did you get this picture?”

He replied, “Out of my head.”

At times, I would sense a dark spiritual presence over my office in the back house. At other times, I would feel it in the house. It seems that whenever there is a demonic presence in the area, I can feel the strong presence of the HOLY SPIRIT who is protecting us and alerting us to the danger. When we began having more issues around the house, I began to seek the LORD about what He would have us do.

It became obvious to me that we were dealing with a principality that had been brought in by Chinese Folk Buddhism. Often as my wife and I would prayer walk the neighborhood in the evening, we would see red lights on our Chinese Buddhist neighbors altar tables. We would pray a hedge of protection over our home every night and ask the LORD to protect us in our sleep as we found some members of our family were suffering from frightening demonic dreams at night.

We’d ask Him to give us a good night’s rest and cause us to wake refreshed in the morning so that we could serve Him with all our heart, soul and strength. Next to my bed on my nightstand, I have my Bible and have made it a habit to read the Word, until I find something that the LORD seems to be speaking to me about, write it in my commonplace, and meditate on that passage prayerfully before falling asleep.

After seeking the LORD about the increased warfare on the property, I talked with a Christian brother who was radically saved out of high level Satanism when he was an arms dealer for the Hell’s Angels. He stayed with us a few nights and he said he’d heard sounds from the rear neighbor’s house next door that he recognized as a witch. The next day, he discreetly pointed out  a number of signs that confirmed that she was indeed a practicing witch.

Then I was led to speak to my landlady as the LORD had burdened me for the task. I told her that the LORD had spoken to me about the property and that there was something wrong. She then said that when she moved in she discovered that all the cabinets had been filled with Chinese artifacts that were collected by the former owner who had traveled extensively to China and held meetings at her home about China.  

Our landlady got rid of all of the items which were filling shelves around the house. She said that she’d seen a demon in the main house and was frightened in the rear house when she was painting by a strong apparition. After she saw the demon in the front house, she discovered that her husband had gotten very involved with drugs. His behavior became more and more violent and at one point he got so angry he began to beat her up in the kitchen. After his drug use escalated he ended up in a vegetative state from which he has never recovered.

We then seriously began to pray over the property and for its sanctification. We were led into the back yard behind the clubhouse in the southwest corner where there was a unusual pile of stones. We prayed and were led by the LORD to excavate the ground. As we dug we began searching the soil through our garden sifter and uncovered strange wire in configurations, bones, broken plates and other items. When we took it to the police department because of the size of one of the bones, he mentioned that it should go to the coroner’s office for investigation. As it happened, the coroner said it was most likely from a Wiccan or Santeria ceremony.

We then fully dismantled the stone altar and sanctified the ground through sprinkling it with Kosher salt and anointing the fences with olive oil. We asked that YHWH to sanctify the ground from all its defilement by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

We then inadvertently noticed through a window in our landlady’s adjoining storage unit to our garage that she had a collection of boxes which we could see were witch figurines. We grew increasingly uncomfortable with our situation.

The warfare increased dramatically when we dug up the bones, which were not human evidently, but animal. We determined that this was not an old incinerator site first.

Things became increasingly horrific. We discovered that the street had been named after the first Mayor whose name was Perkins. The City of Arcadia had been founded by Lucky Baldwin who was deeply into all sorts of occultism and had been a preacher’s kid from Indiana gone bad, and became an adventurer, made it in the Silver business, purchased 63,000 acres of land which are now Monrovia and Arcadia, was married four times, and prohibited any church from being planted there for nearly a century as he didn’t want them to interfere with his brothels and his horse racing track and gambling business.

He had gone to India as well and made contact with Hindus and brought back peacocks which now populate certain neighborhoods of Arcadia. The peacock is said to represent Lakshmi, a Hindu deity and is also associated with a Chinese Buddhist deity Kwan-yin.

“If a ruler pays attention to falsehood, all his ministers become wicked.” Proverbs 29:12

His relationship with his daughter Anita was tumultuous. She shot and almost killed him and was heavily involved in the occult. She had close ties to Grace Nicholson who she donated many artifacts which she displayed in her Chinese style home in Pasadena, which eventually became the Pacific Asia Museum.

 We began to understand that there were bigger issues than we had knowledge of before. Each city has a redemptive gift which is often the missing component in a founder’s life. As believers we are commanded to pray for those in authority over us. That means, we need to have a list of their names, positions and responsibilities. We ask the LORD for ‘able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain” (Exodus 18:21), that are “wise and discerning and experienced men” (Deuteronomy 1:13). Leaders who exhibit the attributes of integrity, and recognize the need for justice balanced with mercy.” The Biblical purpose of government and civil law is to restrain the evil action of men in society” (Romans 13; 1 Peter 2).

By establishing a place in our home to pray, be it a room set aside for prayer and worship, or an area of the room, or a closet, we can establish a place where we can quiet our hearts, read His Word, and listen to His still small voice, and present our petitions, pleas, and draw near to Him. A map of the community is also very helpful as you pray over its boundaries and for the pastors of churches in the community.

We believe that the redemptive gift of Arcadia which is known as the City of Homes is “Solidly Committed, Compassionate and Wise Biblical Parenthood” as exemplified by Dr. James Dobson whose  established the Focus on the Family in Arcadia thirty years ago (August 1981).

The city has now been adopted by many Chinese immigrants as their new home.  Many of the homeowners hold dual residences in China and the US. The churches now serving the community and actively sharing the Gospel are proof that YHWH will build His Covenant Community and the gates of Hell will not prevail (Matthew 16:18).

Babcock, a godly young man given to service to the LORD Jesus Christ. “From 1887 to 1900, Babcock was senior minister of the prestigious Brown Memorial Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, Maryland. While pastoring Brown Memorial, he was acclaimed for his oratory and use of colorful metaphors in his sermons. He also led a fund-raising effort to assist Jewish refugees from Russia who were victims of an anti-Jewish pogrom in the 1880s.”

Many of us have sung these words at church services across the nation, but how many of us know that less 120 years later, Tibetan lamas built a sand mandala at Auburn Theological seminary where he went to school. All of this in honor of the Dalai Lama’s being awarded the Congressional Gold Medal by the US Congress.

How far we’ve fallen! Where are the Gatekeepers?

Back in 1985, when I was working for Western Union Electronic Mail, yes they had a forerunner of it that transmitted through a modem, one of my areas of expertise was Crisis Communications for Corporations. It was well known that most CEO’s in meltdown crisis situations had poor coping skills under pressure. In order to change that, they would develop crisis communication plans anticipating potential trouble spots in their businesses. What they studied were called Pro-dromes. Before a crisis occurs, symptoms set in that indicate that a person, or an organization are about to find themselves in a heightened state of emergency. Before someone has a heart attack, they have symptoms.

Today, cities all of the world have practice drills simulating major disasters to see how their different departments might function under stress. Tibet in 700 AD, was not Buddhist. As Tantric Buddhism was failing in India as a result of “self-poisoning” and the iconoclasm of the Islamic Empire which was expanding in India through invasions wherein Buddhism was condemned as idolatrous under Sharia law. 

At that time, Padmasambhava, an Indian Tantric shaman fought a spiritual war of conquest over the Himalayan Mountains and subjugated the indigenous gods of Tibet’s Bon religion and assimilated them into the Tantric pantheon.  He spiritually conquered Tibet.

This would be a prodrome event that demonstrates the model through which Tantric Buddhism establishes itself in a new context. Bernie Wijesiriwardena, a former Buddhist from Sri Lanka who himself descended from a 550 year lineage of Buddhists prior to coming to Christ, stated that “the Buddhist process of assimilation takes place over an eighty year period.’  The alliances the Tibetans are making with First Nations is in alignment with their plan of spiritual conquest as they establish their Shambhala Empire.

Here’s a thumbnail sketch of my theory. As a militant Islamic Empire subjugated India and forced Buddhism underground and resulted in many conversions to Islam, it forced Tantric Buddhism over the Himalayas where it spiritually subjugated indigenous Tibetan peoples who became Tantric Buddhists who’d incorporated elements of Bon, the traditional animistic practices of Tibet. As idolatrous Tibetan Buddhism prospered and ruled Tibet as powerful landlords in a feudalistic system, YHWH, found Tibet’s practices abhorrent as they defiled the land and people and sent missionaries who were sincerely sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ to give them an opportunity to repent. As they rejected the truth,  YHWH, gave them over into the hands of a greater power for chastening. Then in a desparate quest to protect Tantric Buddhism’s mysteries, another country helps their chief leader, the XIV Dalai Lama escape. Over time, the Dalai Lama seeks to propagate Tantric Buddhism and seeks counsel from his shaman, the Nechung Oracle. Padmasambhava’s prophecy speaking of the scattering of Tibetans like ants to the land of the Red man becomes their guiding star.  The US Government which held to a Hellenized Christianity which was became syncretistic under Constantine, who basically conscripted Roman gods, temples, and holidays and Christianized them, gave birth to Roman Catholicism which was the Roman Empires new ideology motivating their conquest. As important as the Protestant reformation was in holding to the doctrines of grace and the priesthood of all believers, it was still tainted by the Constantian syncretism as it misappropriated Christianity to conquer “heathen and pagan peoples by force.”  Persecuted Christians that settled America and held to the Free Church originally fought this trend, but those in the Government used Christianity to justify Manifest Destiny and through it began to conquer First Nations using their military power and using Christianity as an implement of enculturation. Treaties were made in the Name of Jesus Christ. They were covenants. Over 900 were broken and lands were stolen, justified in the name of Manifest Destiny, misinterpreting Scripture and brutally murdering many trusting stewards of Turtle Island.

Tragically, while desiring to protect the Faith, many who fled to America as religious refugees and fought for the ideal of religious freedom and liberty did not extend that to those they considered heathen or pagan, the stewards of Turtle Island, the First Nations.  Not many realize that the China actually utilizes our model of manifest destiny as a model for subjugating the Minority Peoples of China, including the Tibetans. First Nations’ Christian leaders recognize this as a great theological error. That is another lesson. Continuing with my thumbnail theory. In America, Christianity allies itself with secret, and not so secret societies like the Freemasons, which assimilate elements of Christianity, but defile it in truth. As American Christianity apostasizes, it opens the door to Tibetan Buddhism.

When I was growing up in Montana, sheep farmers had a gruesome way to protect their flock from wolves and coyotes. They would bury a wooden stake in the ground to which they would tie a wire hooked to a razor blade frozen in ice and covered with blood. The coyote/wolf would be attracted to the blood and lick the deadly Popsicle. As they did so, their tongue would be desensitized to the razor blade that was cutting their tongue and then they began drinking their own blood ending in their eventual death.  Just like the Apostle Paul warned, ‘there are vicious wolves who have entered the flock. Unfortunately, many in the Church have licked the deadly Popsicle. We have become our own worst enemy. We have allowed ourselves to be deceived and have become blind and naked.

Tantric Buddhists don’t know YHWH. That’s been their excuse up until now. American Christianity as it became more inclusivistic and pluralistic, apostacy set in and now Presbyterians, Baptists, Moravians, Methodists, invite the Tibetans to build sand mandalas in their institutions and churches in the name of “promoting culture” or  “religious freedom in Tibet.” They even host the Buddhist Blood and Relic Tour in their sanctuaries as was done in First Presbyterian Church in Santa Monica, California. One Catholic I met at Fuller said “off the worship I’d worship the relic of any holy man, Catholic or Buddhist.” How shall they hear if we’re disobedient to share our faith? To hold fast to the faith delivered to the Saints.  So who opened the door?

 Before you as a Gatekeeper know that a door needs closing, you have to know that it’s not all about the darkness of Tantric Buddhism, but sadly about the naiveté, lethargy, pride, disobedience, and the lukewarm condition and growing apostasy of a growing segment of the Church in America. We don’t take history seriously enough.

On Day Ten, we’ll cover what we did in 1996 to address the visit of the Dalai Lama to Pasadena where he received the “Key to the City” and where we starting asking the question, “Why does he keep coming to Pasadena?” We’ll also trace an initiative that the LORD Jesus imparted to Don Upham in 2003 during the Circle of Bliss Events at the LA County Museum and Sacred Music Festival which began to provide answers to that question which are covered in his excellent book “In Favor of the Saints.”   

In conclusion, I’m going to include three segments that I read today. It will take time, but is an important read.  In honor of Father’s Day, think about this. When we talk in America about our Founding Fathers we speak of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, James Madison, John Jay, John Adams, and Alexander Hamilton. A First Nation Gatekeeper named Dewey remarked, “Have you seen the First Nations T-shirt with the Founding Fathers?”

I answered, “I don’t think I have. What does it look like?”

He said, “Chief Joseph, Sitting Bull, Geronimo, and Red Cloud.”

And so what did our President do? Gave America’s Number One wanted Terrorist Osama Bin Laden the code name “Geronimo.” Does this show you how out of touch we are with our history?

I’m going to conclude with three short paragraphs that I think are worth reflecting on. The first is from Building Godly Nations. While it is an excellent book in many ways, it has some blind spots. This may be one of the biggest as it relates to property rights. Again, Dewey had a great line. ‘When I was in Israel, I told an Israeli who was struggling about the Land for peace issue. He said, “You haven’t seen the T-shirt about land for peace? It says, “Ask an Indian?” Or something like how it did it work for them?”  The US founding Father James Madison had this to say in the following section:

Building Godly Nations by Stephen K. McDowell (p. 172)

     “Freedom of conscience and freedom of religion were of primary importance to our founders. They incorporated these ideas in their constitutions and laws, for example, the Virginia Bill of Rights, Sec. 16, first adopted June 12, 1776:

That religion, or the duty which we owe our Creator, and the manner of discharging it, can be directed only by reason and convictions, not by force or violence, and therefore all men are equally entitled to the free exercise of religion, according to the dictates of conscience, and that it is the mutual duty of all to practice Christian forbearance, love, and charity towards each other.

     “Our founders also recognized the importance of the external aspect of the principle of property. James Madison wrote in 1792:

Government is instituted to protect property of every sort…This being the end of government, that is NOT a just government,…nor is property secure under it, where the property which a man has…is violated by arbitrary seizures of one class of citizens for the service of the rest. 24

  The Boston Tea Party took place as a result of the people acting upon the principle of property. Beginning with the Stamp Act in 1764, the government of England attempted to tax the colonists without their consent. An outcry from the colonists forced Britain to repeal the measure, but over the years the king and parliament continued to try to exert what they felt was their right to tax the colonists even though they were not represented in the body that imposed the taxes. The colonists’ slogan “no taxation without representation” was based upon the principle of property, for if someone could take another man’s property without his consent, then he really had no property rights. Since the tea that was shipped to Boston in 1773 had a tax upon it, the colonists refused to buy it. When the authorities threatened to confiscate the privately owned British ship unless it unloaded the tea, the colonists felt their only recourse was to dump the tea in the harbor. They were not going to violate their principles and submit to tyranny.”

Tecumseh in 1810 faced Governor W.H. Harrison to bitterly protest the land sales of 1805-1806. He said they were effected by the use of strong liquor, a breach of the Treaty of Greenville. He refused to enter the Governor’s mansion.

     “Since my residence at Tippecanoe, we have endeavored to level all distinctions, to destroy village chiefs, by whom all mischiefs are done. It is they who sell the land to the Americans. Brother, this land that was sold, and the goods that was given for it, was only done by a few…In the future we are prepared to punish those who propose to sell land to the Americans. If you continue to purchase the, it will make war among the different tribes, and, at last I do not know what will be the consequences among the white people. Brother, I wish you would take pity on the red people and do as I have requested. If you will not give up the land and do cross the boundary of our present settlement, it will be very hard, and produce great trouble between us.

     The way, the only way to stop this evil is for the red men to unite in claiming a common and equal right in the land, as it was at first, and should be now—for it was never divided, but belongs to all. No tribe has the right to sell, even to each other, much less to strangers…Sell a country! Why not sell the sir, the great sea, as well as the earth? Did not the Great Spirit make them all for the use of his children?

     How can we have confidence in the white people?

     When Jesus Christ came upon the earth you killed Him and nailed Him to the cross. You thought He was dead, and you were mistaken. You have Shakers among you and you laugh and make light of their worship.

     Everything I have told you is the truth. The Great Spirit has inspired me.

     Tecumseh, in July 1811, with twenty-four warriors, followed the Wabash River in a second attempt to engage in historic debates to persuade the Indians to unite in a southern confederation. He voiced prophetic warnings.

     “Where today are the Pequot? Where are the Narragensett, the Mohican, the Pocanet, and other powerful tribes of our people? They have vanished before the avarice and oppression of the white man, as snow before the summer sun…Will we let ourselves be destroyed in our turn, without making an effort worthy of our race? Shall we, without a struggle, give up our homes, our lands, bequeathed to us by the Great Spirit? The graves of our dead and everything that is dear and sacred to us?   I know you will say with me, Never! Never!…

     Sleep not longer, O Choctawa and Chickasaws, in false security and delusive hopes…Will not the bones of our dead by plowed up, and their graves turned into plowed fields?”

A PETITION TO ABBA.

PLEASE GIVE US Understanding and wisdom to overcome historical and theological breaches which have betrayed the Gospel of Yeshua and inoculated many First Nations, Tibetans, and others against the true faith found in YHWH.

 IN CONCLUSION. Before ending in prayer, here is a story which I hope encourages us to press on in the steps that YHWH has preordained out of His mercy and compassionate love for unreached peoples all over the world. Thanks to Caris Faith Sy.

“Gladys Aylward, courageous and renowned missionary to China, shares a fascinating story in one of her biographies which exemplifies the hunger in man’s heart for love. Gladys and a companion, Dr. Huang, were traveling on a short ministry excursion. She relates that on the eleventh day, out of desperation the doctor prayed, “Oh God…we have witnessed to no one today, but you have sent us here for some special purpose. Show us where to find the man you intend to bless.

When the prayer time ended, the two began to sing choruses. A few minutes later, they joyously sighted a Tibetan lama priest, who, to their surprise, cordially invited them both to spend the night in the lamasery. They were extremely curious, because lamas are supposed to have nothing to do with women.

But, another even greater surprise awaited them. Suddenly, the lama stated clearly, “We have waited long for you to tell us about the God who loves. Gladys reports how her heart jumped when their new guide led them to a compound and invited them to speak to five hundred lamas! They sang and also spoke of the baby who was born in the stable and of the Savior who died on Calvary.

Speaking on and on, interspersed with singing, they continued until well past the point of exhaustion. Finally, upon the verge of collapse, they both arose and left the great hall to retire for the night. However, rest was not yet to come. For upon retiring, Gladys was disturbed by lama after lama coming to her room, two by two.

She describes the situation: “A few minutes later, two more came and so it went on all night. Always the same question, “Will you explain how and why He died? Will you explain how it is He could love me?’” Then she amplifies:

These men never questioned that God was the Creator of the World, they never doubted the fact of the virgin birth, they did not consider any of the miracles incredible. To them it was the wonder of God’s love which obsessed them. The story of Christ’s death on Calvary filled their minds with awe and reverence.

When Gladys spoke with Dr. Huang the next morning, she found that the same occurrence had taken place in his room. These lamas were thirsting for the old story of God’s loving plan of salvation. So the two decided to remain in the monastery a while longer, which eventually turned into a full week. During this time, they continued to receive inquiries regularly. Finally, Gladys gathered enough courage to ask her big question: “Why did you let me—a foreign woman come to your lamasery? Why did you allow me to speak to your priests?”

And she received the most astonishing reply.

It is a long story. Out on our mountainside grows a licorice herb which my lamas collect and sell in the cities. One year the men who had taken the herb harvest down on the mules were passing through a village when they saw a man waving a paper while he called out, “Who wants one? Salvation free and for nothing. He who believes gets salvation and lives forever. If you want to learn more of this come to the gospel hall.”

The lamas, utterly astonished at such a doctrine, took the tract and brought it back to the lamasery. I was shown the tract, now worn and in pieces, stuck on the wall. It was a perfectly ordinary tract, simply quoting John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

That was all, but from it they had learned that somewhere there was a “God who loved.” Everybody read it and reread it or had it read to them.

The head lama continued after I had read that important scrap of paper.

The next year, when our men took the herb down to the cities they were told to find out where “The God who loved” lived, but for five years they could learn nothing more.

Then the men who had first received the tract vowed they would not come back until they learned more about this God. They went on and on until they came to Len Chow. There they saw an important looking man on the street, and asked their usual question, “Can you tell us where the God who loves lives?”

“Oh, yes,” he said. “Go down that street, and you will come to a large gateway with three signs over it, “Faith, Hope, Charity.’ Go in there; they will tell you about God.”

Jubilantly they approached the small China Inland Mission station and asked the same question of the Chinese evangelist. He told them all he could, then gave them each a copy of the Gospels.

Eagerly they hurried back to the lamasery and reread the accounts of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. We believed all that it contained, though there was much we could not understand. But one verse seemed of special importance. Christ had said, “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel,” so obviously one day someone would come to tell us more about this wonderful God. All we had to do was to wait and, when God sent a messenger, to be ready to receive him. For another three years we waited. Then two lamas, out on the hillside gathering sticks, heard someone singing. “Those are the messengers we are waiting for,” they said. “Only people who know God will sing.”

While one went back to tell the rest of us to prepare for the long expected guests, the other came down to meet you on the hillside.

That was why everything was done for our comfort, why they gladly clamored down and brought up our bundles, why they received us with hungry hearts.”

The first time I read that I wept. They are waiting. Trusting that we, God’s disciples will be obedient.

May we not disappoint them or our LORD Yeshua, Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

PRAYERS

Confession. As lead by the Holy Spirit.

Prayer strategy of a mature Tibetan Christian minister.

The enemy will try, through the Buddhist protective deities (demons), to generate fear and confusion over minds that try to pray.

1. Brothers and sisters need to be of one mind. (Phil. 2:1-11).

2. Remember God is sovereign over this and that believers should walk in the knowledge of the full victory found in Jesus Christ alone. (Ps.20:6-7; 46:1-4;10-11; 22:26-31; Rev. 12:10-11; 1 Peter 1:17-19;2:9)

3. Be united in confronting the situation. (Phil. 2:2).

4. Pray:

For no demonic empowerment.

For the salvation of Buddhists, even the Dalai Lama. (Ps. 2:1-12; Jer.18:1-17;26:13).

For no enchantment of the listeners.

That the Spirit of Truth would prevail in sharing the Gospel.

That what the enemy intends would instead be multiplied for the Kingdom of God’s progress.

That God would confound the devices and weapons of the enemy being raised up by this event and would use it for LORD Jesus’s Glory.

…..Other requests:

 For unity and a solid, loving evangelical witness of the Christian community to reach spiritually lost followers of Tibetan Buddhism. (Eph. 1:15-23; 3:1-6;4:29-32; 2 Thes.1:11-12).

For a spirit of humility in our witness, that we, without Yeshua, our Savior Jesus Christ, we would be as lost as they. (Ephesians 2:1-4).

Pray for a covering over all those who are preparing literature for outreach, and its timely publication.

Pray for gatekeepers to take the worldviews101 intensive so that they can intercede with knowledge and understanding.

Pray for us as we prepare the blog. For necessary finances, energy, clarity and wisdom and a spiritual and physical covering over our entire family and team working on this initiative. Thanks be to YHWH our Provider and Defender.

May the Fear of the YHWH be released upon the Nation to bring us all to repentance before His Throne of grace.

May the young bees be raised up in a spring swarm that is productive for advancing the KINGDOM OF GOD.

May believers of every background be made aware of this initiative and become involved with their many gifts, talents and abilities.

FORTY DAY GATEKEEPERS INITIATIVE FOR TURTLE ISLAND

TIMEFRAME: June 10-July 20, 2011

AREA: Turtle Island (Canada, United States, First Nations Reservations, Mexico, Cuba, Territories).

 

 

“You are therefore to keep all My statutes

and all My ordinances and do them,

so that the land to which I am bringing you to live

will not spew you out.”

Already your prayers are being answered from yesterday as Gatekeepers are arising around the nation. Nothing ever takes YHWH by surprise. Nothing.  One Gatekeeper referred this Gatekeepers report from Nebraska. Yesterday, we asked the LORD to call Gatekeepers forth across the nation. It has begun! Our prayer was answered!

As Gatekeepers it’s critical now to move into position with understanding. While we may look at things in the natural, these floods are not simply a result of more snow than usual. I wouldn’t even say that the floods are part of some government conspiracy. Some may call them demonic. I however believe that our defilement of the land has provoked YHWH to show His displeasure. According to YHWH’s first speech in Job Chapter 38:

“Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, or have you seen the storehouses of hail, which I have reserved for the time of distress, for the day of war and battle? Where is the way that the light is divided or the east wind scattered on the earth? (East winds are judgment winds). Who has cleft a channel for the flood, or a way for the thunderbolt..Who can count the clouds by wisdom, or tip the water jars of the heavens… Will the faultfinder contend with the Almighty? Let him who reproves YHWH answer it.”

 I think that the following information shows how terrifying and swift the judgment of God can be on a nation. It should be RED ALERT to GATEKEEPERS all over the country. I am from California and of all states, we stand in a terrible position to be judged. We have done much evil and have much to repent of. One look at all the mandalas in California is shocking and so we don’t take these floods lightly in the least. We too stand on the edge of judgment. It only takes a Word from YHWH and California could be judged by a Great Earthquake or whatever He has allowed. Please take out a map of North America and pray over the rivers.

Q: The Nebraska gatekeepers did ask one important question: “If anyone receives any other direction as to how we should be praying, please let me know.”

A: This was my response.  It is possible that not one of these prayers will gain the ear of Abba. Why? Because none of them deal with the root defilement of the waters. If we don’t confess our sins as Gatekeepers of the lands, is He obligated to jump to it while we allow the defilement? If one looks at my map of sand mandalas, tantric vases in all the rivers and lakes, State Capitols, State and National Parks, sacred high mountain sources. Defiled sand has been emptied from sand mandalas in these states and more idols have been built and meetings held. The earth is about to throw up the defilement.   I hunted as a child with my father Carlton on a 54 section piece of land in Malta that abutted Fort Peck Reservoir. I remember on that land being able to stand on a large rock on a high place that served as a reference point for many of the plains tribes. There were many inscriptions. As I look at the defilement that has been allowed in Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and through the entire continent, it grieves me. The hour is late. Only confession and repentance.

When we’ve prayed for Tibetan peoples over the years, we sought the LORD for an answer as to why the darkness of Tantric Buddhism has begun to spread across the land. This is part of the root inequity of the land. A clear separation must be made between the Tibetan people who YHWH loves and the Tantric gods and religion which HE abhors. We are not about political correctness, never have been, never will be. Tantric Buddhism was wiped out of Indian in about 700 AD and then moved its vile faith into Tibet where as a missionary religion, it assimilated the beliefs of the indigenous peoples and enslaved them to Tantric Buddhism. Then in the 1950’s it again was all but wiped out and then moved back to India and onto America. YHWH brought the Tibetan peoples to America to be reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

 But here’s the challenge. As fifty of us from around the world wrestled in prayer about why the vile and dangerous Tantric Buddhism was invited into America, we came to the conclusion that it was because of our sin on two major fronts. 1. Our syncretistic embrace of Freemasonry and Christianity in America; and 2. Our Nation’s and Church’s abuse of the Host people.  While Kansas Governor Brownback’s bill which he sponsored when he was in the Senate Apologizing to the Native American’s passed. It was but a beginning. There is much historical covenant breaking that needs to be rectified.

In John Locke’s  “Essay Concerning Human Understanding” he states his view on the source of truth:

“The holy Scripture is to me, and always will be, the constant guide of my belief; and I shall always hearken to it, as containing infallible truth relating to things of the highest concernment…Where I lack the evidence of things, there yet is ground enough for me to believe, because God has said it: and I shall immediately condemn and quit any opinion of mine, as soon as I am shown that it is contrary to any revelation in the holy scripture.”

Our plea to the LORD of the Universe must not be done in ignorance. We must confess our faults before Him and first to our wives and husbands. We’ve got to be right with one another first. Then we must confess and renounce all allegiances that we or our family has with any secret society or order that stands against YHWH. Freemasonry, Knights Templar, KKK, and numerous others. Secondly, we must look deeper into our Christian history of compromising the Gospel and using the Gospel as our ideological framework to subjugate First Nations and others. At least ask YHWH to open our eyes to our Christian cultural blindness to the offenses we’ve taken against First Nations. Study the historic abuses by Christian denominations of First Nations Tribes through the School System and other areas. We hope to have this covered by some of our First nation brothers and sisters as part of the Forty Day Gatekeeper Initiative for Turtle Island.

 Tantric Buddhism is here to do what it did in Asia. Conquer the indigenous peoples and assimilate local faiths and establish the Shambhala kingdom.  While it is a complex battle, we must begin to understand the nature of our offense that opened the door to this incursion, even if we were not directly involved. Pray forgiveness and then for the process of true healing, repentance, and restitution to continue. Don’t take it lightly.

The Tibetan people are not our enemy, but are fine, joyful, and hardworking people. I know many of them who are devout Christians that have been persecuted for becoming believers. One of my heroes was Stephen Hishey, now with the LORD who was a Moravian Christian in Leh, Ladakh in Northern India’s Kashmir. 900 lamas marched around his home for three days shouting and chanting “Death to the Christian pastor!!” He survived and established Gawelyon Radio which was a much respected Christian radio program even among the Tibetan Lamas (monks) and common people. I’ve met several former Tibetan lamas that are now strong Christian believers as well. So “Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers in heavenly places.”  Our weapons are not carnal, but spiritual for the pulling down of strongholds. We must stand in the gap for these precious elect who the LORD Yeshua will bring from every tribe.

Dear Nebraska Prayer Warriors:

Much is happening with the Missouri River flood. A levee at the Iowa-Missouri border broke today and parts of Hamburg, Iowa are being evacuated. The Fort Calhoun nuclear power plant is almost under water. Eppley Airfield could be affected by flooding. Many people have already had to leave their homes and businesses all along this mighty river. Acres and acres of farm land are being flooded. (see the power plant below.) Much property has been damaged.

Below is a posting from last week that expresses great concern for the structural stability of all the upstream dams. All this calls for serious intercession and warfare.

“There is very real threat of a flood that will leave St. Louis in chest-high water. The reason: Six old, huge, faulty dams that normally have reserve space for spring snow melt are nearly full now  before the spring floods start. Floodgates that haven’t been opened in 50 years have begun to open. Flooding has begun. And the human and economic toll could be ghastly. 

Why another flood disaster? Six dams from Fort Peck in Montana to Gavins Pointin South Dakota, authorized by the Flood Control Act of 1944, are in the process of failing at flood control. With spring water levels low, they can hold back more than three years of average Missouri River flow, enough to stop the worst floods and protect 750 miles of the Missouri River valley and heartland cities. This year, that is not the case.

Let me give you a sense of scale. These reservoirs are massive. Four of the nation’s 10 largest reservoirs are along the Missouri River – Fort Peck, Fort Randall, Garrison and Oahe. Three of these had less than five feet of total storage space behind the floodgates at the end of May. With a combined height of 700 feet, these three dams are nearly full. Melting snow surely will complete the task.

With cities from Wolf Point, Mont., to St. Louis facing record levels of water, hundreds of thousands of people are threatened by the unprecedented opening of floodgates. The greatest fear is the massive Fort Peck Dam, a hydraulic-fill dam that is the largest of its kind.

The Fort Peck Dam is built with a flawed design that has suffered a well-known fate for this type of dam liquefaction in which saturated soil loses its stability. Hydraulic-fill dams are prone to almost instant collapse from stress or earthquakes. California required all hydraulic-fill dams be torn out or rebuilt  and no other large dams have been built this way since.

At three miles wide, Fort Peck Dam last opened its floodgates 36 years ago. By the end of the first week in June, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be releasing a record spill of water. The corps recently answered the question of possible failure with a statement the dam is “absolutely safe.” It may be the largest at-risk dam in the nation.

Downstream, Garrison Dam never has had to use its floodgates since the dam wasconstructed 50 years ago. By mid-June, the corps plans to dump water equal to agood-sized river. The same is true for Oahe Dam, the next one downstream. Sincethe reservoirs are nearly full, the corps has no choice.

Effective flood control from six large dams is no longer an option. As a corps representative said, “It now moves us into uncharted territory.”

We must all pose a question of national significance to the corps: What if Fort Peck Dam should fail?

Here is a likely scenario: Garrison, Oahe and three other downstream earthen dams would have to catch and hold a massive amount of water, an area covering nearly 250 square miles 100 feet deep. But earthen dams, when overtopped with floodwater, do not stand. They break and erode away, usually within an hour. All are full.

There is a possibility a failure of Fort Peck Dam could lead to a domino-like collapse of all five downstream dams. It probably would wreck every bridge, highway, pipeline and power line and split the heartland of the nation, leaving a gap 1,500 miles wide. Countless sewage treatment plants, toxic waste sites and even Superfund sites would be flushed downstream. The death toll and blow to our economy would be ghastly.

The corps is placing the nation at risk, and if the dams fail, Leon Panetta, who will become secretary of Defense later this month, will have the great Missouri Flood Disaster on his desk. And the entire nation will demand answers as to why the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers did not avert disaster with more economically and ecologically sound methods of flood prevention.”

Bernard Shanks, an adviser to the Resource Renewal Institute, has studied the six main-stem Missouri River dams for more than four decades. He has worked for the U.S. Geological Survey and served as director of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. He has written three books on public land policy and is completing a book on the hazards of the Missouri River dams.

 Besides the Missouri River flood, we here in Nebraska also have the flood on the Platte River, especially in the North Platte area right now. There is potential for upstream flooding because the snowmelt in the mountains has not come down yet. Of course that could then lead to flooding all along the Platte as it flows across our state, and then empties into the already overloaded Missouri. 

As the people of God, we have the authority to address this crisis before it becomes worse. As the Ekklesia in Nebraska we can legislate in the gates. (In the Bible, the leaders sat in the city gate and made rulings.)

Please use Psalm 46, Psalm 29, and Psalm 91 as springboards for your prayers.

1.        WE MUST NOT ACT OUT OF FEAR. OUR GOD IS ABLE TO INTERVENE.

2.        Speak peace to the waters.

3.        Pray for divine protection over the dams and levees.

4.        Bind the demonic forces involved and forbid them to carry out any more assignments.

5.        Command the river waters to recede.

6.        Ask God to send warrior angels to protect property and people and to place warring angels around the dams and levees to hold them together.

7.        Ask God to send legions of angels to disperse storms and cause the weather patterns to come into proper balance.

8.        Pray for the rain to gently fall on areas that need it, but that it will be held back where it is not needed.

9.        Pray for those who do not know the Lord. Ask the Lord to keep His hand on them to let them see miracles and blessings that come from this disaster, that they will know the Lord is God, repent, and come to salvation.

10.      Pray for God’s provision for all those who have lost homes and property.

11.      Pray for everyone to be comforted by the Holy Spirit and be at peace.

12.      Pray for wisdom for all in authority, especially the Corps of Engineers.

THANK YOU FATHER THAT YOU HAVE A LONG ARM, AND THAT YOUR ARM REACHES OUT OVER ALL THIS LAND AND YOUR PEOPLE FOR PROTECTION. Beginning with Self-Examination

I think it’s important to properly introduce Jonathan Edwards to those gatekeepers who do not know the breadth and depth and sacrifice of this brother who serves as our historical mentor. I clipped this from Wikipedia.

Jonathan Edwards (October 5, 1703 – March 22, 1758) was a preacher, theologian, and missionary to Native Americans. Edwards “is widely acknowledged to be America’s most important and original philosophical theologian,”^[3] and one of America’s greatest intellectuals.^[4]  

Edwards played a very critical role in shaping the First Great Awakening, and oversaw some of the first fires of revival in 1733–1735 at his church – First Church – in Northampton, Massachusetts.^[6] Edwards delivered the sermon “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God“, a classic of early American literature, during another wave of revival in 1741, following George Whitefield‘s tour of the Thirteen Colonies.^[7] Edwards is widely known for his many books: The End For Which God Created the World; The Life of David Brainerd, which served to inspire thousands of missionaries throughout the nineteenth century; and Religious Affections, which many Reformed Evangelicals read even today.^[8] Edwards died from a smallpox inoculation shortly after beginning the presidency at the College of New Jersey (later to be named Princeton University), and was the grandfather of Aaron Burr.^[9]

Many years ago, I heard John H. Gerstner, one of the leading historians on Jonathan Edwards speak in Los Angeles. His Rational Biblical Theology of Jonathan Edwards is edifying.  I began to delve into Edwards’ teaching as one of the premier theologians in American history after Gerstner told a story about a secular historian who was convicted in his studies of Edwards. The historian had said, “After reading A Treatise Concerning Religious Affections “Concerning the Nature of the Affections and their Importance in Religion” any Christian would be hard-pressed to believe he’s in the faith as it asks such deep and probing spiritual questions.’ After that I found a copy at Archives and dove into it. It has been a priceless guide accompanying the Word to ask the questions that need to be asked about our walk with the LORD from a man who deeply loved his Master Jesus Christ. 

I found one of the sermons incredibly convicting and inspirational and asked Banner of Truth Trust for permission to republish it in its entirety which they allowed if it was not for profit. I hope to weave elements from his sermon, “Christian Cautions or the Necessity of Self Examination” throughout our prayer initiative to assist in deepening our spiritual lives as Gatekeepers of the covenant community.

“God requires of us, that we exercise the utmost watchfulness and diligence in his service. Reason teaches, that it is our duty to exercise the utmost care, that we may know the mind and will of God, and our duty in all the branches of it, and to use our utmost diligence in everything to do it; because the service of God is the great business of our lives, it is that work which is the end of our being; and God is worthy, that we should serve him to the utmost of our power in all things. This is what God often expressly requires of us; Deut. 4:9. “Take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things that thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life.” And v.15,16. “Take ye therefore good heed to yourselves, lest ye corrupt yourselves.” And Deut.vi.17. “You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes which he hath commanded thee.” And Prov. 4:23, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” So we are commanded by Christ to “watch and pray;” Matthew 26:41; and Luke 21:34,36.

Mind of Wisdom. “Wisdom is better than weapons of war” (Eclessiastes  ; 1 Kings 3:9).

Spiritual ears to hear.

Nose to smell deceit, hidden lies.

Men of compassion (Matthew 12:7).

Men who know the Fear of the LORD.

Defenders of the narrow gate.

Bearers of the keys of the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 16:18-19).

Men who know the will of God and carry out the will of God as Christ’s brothers (Matthew 12:50).

Men who have risked their lives for the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 15:26).

Courage, wisdom and strength to face attacks with the boldness of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah

Men of Faith.
